Default Shared SSL - sanity check.

    Hi there

I'm in the process of setting up a zen cart (1.3.7). While I wait for the client to sort out domain name and SSL cert (is the latter something I can do on their behalf, actually?), I'd like to see if I can set up the cart to use the shared SSL that my hosting provides, so I can test out payment and checkout. I'm with jaguarpc.com; they provide cPanel. The cart is set up (at the moment) in a subdomain, and will later be in a multihosted domain.

The site is at http://shop.example.com/ - the SSL cert is something like https://servername.hostdomain.com/~mycpanelusername (obviously, I've changed the names to protect the innocent).

(I am fairly sure that this is doomed to failure, from replies to similar threads I've read in this forum - no big deal, this is just a test-run, but it'd be nice if I could get it working)

So, I found and read https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=14 - ok, fine, that looks promising; I followed the ~USERNAME use case (last one). However, when I click login on the site's homepage, I'm 404'd at the secure address (which at this point is https://server.foo.com/~mycpaneluser...nsquerystring).

Ok, so my site lives in a directory off my root, let's call it "bar". I try adding that to the path - same 404, but now ~mycpanelusername/bar/index.php...

At this point, I'm giving up for the time being, unless anyone can see I've made a silly mistake? That's why I'm asking; just on the offchance. Like I said, my research shows me this is unlikely to work.

    your link looks good,
are you sure that your host has 1 an SSL to share?
2 that they are allowing use of this shared ssl, this can be adjusted in the whm panel.

Hi - I submitted roughly the same query to my hosting's support system, and it turned out there was a misconfiguration on my account, which they then subsequently fixed. It now works nicely.

    Thanks for your help!
