red flag A few million CSS issues

    Hey all,
Was wondering if you guys could give me a hand with soem CSS issues on my site. I can't for the life of me figure this stuff out! Any and all help would be appreciated.

The first issue that I'm having concerns the massive font of "new products for january." I have scoured the stylesheet to the best of my abilities and have yet to be able to fix it.

My second issue is the spacing between the headings of the sideboxes and the sideboxes themselves: there is a huges gap. Can I somehow get it so that the headings are dircetly on top of their respective sideboxes, but with a little more wiggle room between the bottom of the last sidebox?

The third problem that I'm having is the large gap unerneath the last category in the category sidebox - before "new products." How do I close that gap?

Fourth issue - another spacng problem! Text fields and images don't seem to have any padding between them - just click on Pizza (to see the navigation images) or Log In (to see the textboxes) to see what I mean! This is a biggie - how do I remedy this?

Fifthe and final issue (for now) - I'd like to somehow put some space between the bottom of the stoe table thing and the absolute bottom of the page - the top of the page has the right amount of padding before the banner. Doable?

    Thank you all in advance!

    Mike

Maybe a URL where these problems can be seen?

    Hi Mike,

Please reduce the 1.4 MB pizza picture to something a little leaner so we don't get too annoyed waiting for it to load to bother helping you. ;-)

You still have a right column there. It's only about a pixel wide, but it's still there. Did you mean to do that?

    1. The new products heading is an H2 with a class of centerBoxHeading. You can adjust the font-size for that in the stylewheet. (I use Firefox and an addon called Aardvark to see the CSS elements easily.)

    2. There is extra space between Food and New Products because there are 2 BR tags there. There's one after Food and another after a gif which follows the word Food. You might want to get rid of the gif or at least the second BR.

That's also what's causing the extra space after the sidebox headers. There are 2 BR tags after each. (You can see these if you View Source in your browser.) It looks like you're using a sidebox contribution? You may have to track down the extra BR problem there.

    Hope this helps,

    Rob

Thanks for the help - no, I didn't mean for the right column. I forgot it was even there. I'm going to install Aardvark now, perhaps it will cut down on the number of questions I am forced to ask you all.

I can't for the life of me find out where those BR tags are coming from. I'll look into it, though.

As always, further insight is appreciated, and thanks for the help.

The main sidebox templates are in: includes/templates/your_template/common/tpl_box_default_left.php and _right.

Those files affect the layout of all sideboxes, check for unecessary HTML in there.
