Category Tabs Background

hi there,

how do you change the background of the category tabs (the one that can be turned on/off in admin) to an image and how do you include a separator between each category?

These are dynamically created and also expanded when you add a category or 5.

Using an image in their place can be hard coded but you will lose the functionality if you add another category - i.e. you will then have to go in and hard code this new category and reposition them all most likely.

This auto generation is a feature that keeps site maintenance at a minimum, are you certian that this is what you want to give up?

Are there other ways where i can have the category links to be below my header? I have read that i could use Ez-Pages but not sure where i could edit the fonts, background etc for this.

So many that addressing them all is difficult. It fully depends on what you are trying to acheive. Many stores are relatively static as to categories so that making custom items though hard code is not a major issue while others are changing relatively contstantly and having these hard coded becomes a maintenance nightmare.

For you to investigate some options, and unordered list can be created to house these .....you might download a new template that has used this and in zencart ease so that it remains dynamic . Look for "apple zen" in the downloads area. See what you think and if it sparks any design ideas

I looked at the "apple zen" template and the menu below the header is what i want to achieve but without the css flyout. Im trying to do it using ez-pages instead. Thanks for all the help.
