Default LinkPoint API and declining cards?

Anyone else have this problem? We are getting occasional international customers who say that their credit card is declined. When checkout out of our store, they get the message:

"Your card has been declined. Please re-enter your card information, try another card, or contact the store owner for assistance."

However, if you go to LinkPoint's website and enter the same card information, it will approve.

    - This doesn't happen with EVERY international customer. Only some of them.

I just wanted to see if anyone else using the LinkPoint API is having this problem.

When this happens, does your Linkpoint control panel (on their site) show the "declined" transaction attempt?

We need to know whether the decline is happening from Linkpoint directly or from within Zen Cart.

    Also,
    - what version of Zen Cart ?
    - what are the first 6 digits of the CC number, and how many digits, on these failed transactions?

    Hi Dr,

No, the Linkpoint Transaction list does not show a declined message. That was actually one of the first things I checked, trying to rule out that the card wasn't just bad.

I am using the latest Zencart (1.3.7).

In this particular instance, the first 6 digits are: 543560 and there are sixteen total digits in the account number.

That sounds like a normal mastercard number.

    Puzzled too ...

Sure....where in the control panel is that? I see Admin->Logging but nothing in there to toggle on and off.

In 1.3.7, inside the Linkpoint API payment module, there is an option for Debug Logging.
It stores debug log files in your /cache folder, if it's writable.

I may be blind but I don't see this option. When I go to the Payment Module for Linkpoint/YourPay API, I only see the following:

    - Enable Linkpoint Module
    - Linkpoint/YourPay Merchant ID
    - LinkPoint Transaction Mode Response
    - Authorization Type
    - Set Order Status
    - PREAUTH Order Status
    - Sort order of display.
    - Payment Zone
    - Fraud Alerts
    - Enable Database Storage

hmmm ... seems it's not visible by default.

Go to the module's settings, click edit. Then edit the URL and add &debug=on to the end of it, and press Enter.
Now change the debug settings to enable logging.

    Hi DrByte....

I finally got around to doing this, and here is the debug log from the linkpoint transaction. Perhaps you could shed some light on why this fails? Again, it fails when checking out through ZenCart. If I go directly to LinkPoint's website and enter the same information through the POS, it approves just fine:
