That's sort of what I was saying, ineptly. As Linda says, adjusting your browser until the site works isn't the best thing.But it is important to start with your browser set to whatever is default, just so you maximise the likelihood of seeing the site the way most people will.
I think in your case that means choosing Medium for text size.
It's also a good idea to view your site in more than one browser. If your main browser is Internet Explorer, that's especially true. Firefox is the usually recommended working browser, mainly because you can get some really good tools that plug in to it to help with your site work. (I use Firebug and Aardvark a lot.)
As a final step you can check out how your site looks in many browsers and at different resolutions by using BrowserCam or a similar service on the web.
