Attributes Question

I understand how to get things done with the attributes well enough to get my sizes/colors/styles of shirts that I sell as options, but Im not too keen on how to update many categories at once.. As it is I have close to 200 categories, or actually subcategories.. So when i change something such as adding a new color option its a pain to have to add that to each category.. Is there a faster way to update all categories at once with a new set of attributes? Copying to one single category is a pain.. Thanks..

If you had the Option Name: Color and wanted to add the Option Value: Purple to all Products with Option Name: Color and Option Value: Red you could ...

Go to the Option Name Manager and use:

Add ALL Option Values to ALL products for Option Name
Update ALL existing products that have at least ONE Option Value and Add ALL Option Values in an Option Name

NOTE: this does not add prices or images

Or, make a Product and set to out of stock and add the 1 new color option value to it then in the Attributes Controller you can copy the attribute to all products in a Category ... as Ignore and add only New Attributes

NOTE: always make a backup before attempting any of these extended features ...
