Gift Wrapping

Hi,

I know there is two modules out there for gift wrapping.

Unfortunately, neither do what my client is looking for.

They want a check-box for gift wrapping on each item in the Shopping Cart.

Has anybody developed anything like this?

Is it possible to add options to each cart item?

catalog -> option name manager.
catalog -> option value manager.

these will allow you to add attributes to products like colors, sizes, or gift wrapping.

It will take a little playing around to figure out.

I know what you are trying to tell me.
Unfortunately its not what I want

I want the user to be able to check a box for each product to gift wrap on checkout.

Yes I know what your saying what I gave you is correct.

The attribute controller is complicated to use, but that will allow you to do what your talking about. A checkbox with gift wrapping by it that adds to the price.

catalog -> option name manager add: gift wrapping? AND select check box
catalog -> option value manager. then add the value: yes to gift wrapping?

then goto catalog -> Attributes Controller... select the product you want to add it to. then set a additional price for the service.

Like I said it just takes some toying around to learn the attribute controller.

Hi Shackle,
I got an error when I tried inserting it on the product.

Attribute Option and Option Value Do NOT Match - Attribute was not added - Gift Wrap : TEXT

what does this mean?

Got around my problem. Yes the gift wrapping is showing on the product info page. Thats cool

However, I also want a checkbox beside the product in "Your Shopping Cart Contents" page. So if the user has not checked that they want it gift wrapped from the product page then they will have the option before they pay.

I toyed with the idea of doing this but dropped it when I saw how much work it would be.
