I don't have the time to investigate this more, but have you guys tried googling something like "1 pixel gap in IE6"? Sometimes I find issues to puzzling css issues that way. It sounds like you may have to end up adding some sort of css hack for IE6 only.

googled it, smoogled it, smooched it, and yet I've seen it in almost everysite that 1.3.5 and up and I'll bet almost most have yet to see it.

Yes, it is a IE6 issue only, but an issue that needs to be addressed as IE7 is not on everyones plate, it looks cool all in all IE7, but it is a nasty hog of resources compared to that of opera/ff. Nice try on gates part though, just not in my opinion a good copycat yet...

So, I keep at it, try this try that, read, find, yet all I can say is that I was making the same build, same files, same images using 1.3.0.2 and that gap did not appear.

Rebuilt from scratch the present 1.3.7, used the same images, sizes, css wraps and more, the only diff is that custom template that now is fully css driven. I've added the same mods and even more, all updated or fixed to 1.3.7 in both french and english, yet this little pest is maybe not seen for most, but it is something I for one really want fixed.

Like I said, on almost everysite I've reviewed or seen using 1.3.5 and up has the same 1 pixel band.

Perhaps its an issue with space ABOVE your navcattabs, and not an issue of space below your logo? Have you tried turning off the navcattabs to test?

If all else fails, you can target IE6 with the * html hack. Something like this, perhaps?

That works, yes sir, one down. Just tested this on another site being done and it fixed the same issue, This is a great IE6 hack worth putting into the css stylesheet. I had to use a 2 px setting to make it fully gone.

jettrue: I want to thank you UP AND DOWN for posting this fix that apparently many, many others have been having with IE leaving this white space in. It works like a charm and did not affect the firefox display in any adverse way. Now...to figure out if my site still wonks out on IE7, which I don't have any way to test.
