You might look that the Per Unit perweightunit Shipping Module ...
This uses the products_weight as the shipping price based on that amount * the unit charge set in the module ...
Set the unit charge to 1 and if the products_weight were 2.5 then the shipping is 2.50 ...Linda McGrath
