    Default guidance needed

i have a long list of phobias i would like to put as a single product, which the customer can then place a checkmark in the box next to the one(s) they want, then when they click add to cart it will charge them accordingly. they are all the same price. do i have to set up each phobia as an attribute then make a phobia cd product and attach the attributes to it, or is there (on knees praying) an easier way to accomplish it? I have a text list of all the phobias arranged alphabetically, if that helps...

Using a stock Zen install, if you want them all selectable at once, from the same page, then yes I'm afraid you need to use attributes.

However, the key phrase there is "Using a stock Zen install", and this is what makes Zen great. You could alternatively build a completely custom page that shows the same options, but then do some magic upon form submit. Basically, you map each checkbox field to a product id, then add the corresponding product to the customer's basket.

This way each phobia can exist as a separate product in the admin (read: no attributes), while you still get the all-in-one display you're looking for.

To pull this off, you would need basic knowledge of PHP, MySQl, and how Zen manages products and the shopping cart.
