    bug admin crashes server

    Hi All,

    Recently installed Zencart succesfully at my localhost Apache server, made an admin account which was all fine (no important changes).
    So, when I tried to login into the admin pages (/admin) with obviously the correct accountinfo, I get this Apache has crashed error...

    While viewing the Apache logfiles I found this errormessage:

    [notice] Parent: child process exited with status 3221225477 -- Restarting.

    What in Zencart is causing this error and how to fix it?
    Other sites and CMS'es run without problems, Zencart is the only app causing errors (each time I reset I get the error...)

    Please let me know what's wrong, thanks in advance.

    Is this a clean Zen Cart install or an upgrade?

    What's your server setup look like (e.g. hosted box, Windows or Linux)?

    Can you log in to the catalog side?

    It's a clean Zen Cart installation.
    The first time (while installing) I had access to the admin-pages.

    My server info:
    Localhost - Windows XP (appserv installation)
    Apache/2.0.58 (Win32)
    Php 4.4.2

    I can login in to the catalog side (frontend) succesfully. (Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution.)

    Apache crashes each time I try to login, however when I enter the wrong accountinfo, zen cart gives me the correct errormessage (You entered the wrong username or password)..

    Does this have something to do with Apache (as I found more issues in this forum)?

    Solved!

    Version checking on localhost is appearently not supported.
    (Suggestion for the programmer: if while installing server name is localfield, use a localhost version of this skip_version_check.ini)

    [ZenCart]
    version_check=off

    ;if you are running Zen Cart on a local server that is not connected to the internet.
    ;set the above line to "=off" to temporarily disable version checking
    ; BE SURE TO TURN IT ON AGAIN on your live server!

    admin_configure_php_check=off

    ;if you are getting errors about the "configure.php" file being incorrect when accessing the admin area,
    ; and yet you know the file is fine, set the above setting to 'off'

    Just say your updated post after posting mine. Will leave the Apache link though, as it may be helpful as well, to others in the same boat.
