I'm trying to create a system for my client to add and delete photos for a slideshow on the front page. I'm trying to avoid having her use ftp, since she has been highly resistant to adding too many steps to the process of maintaining her site. If that's the case it won't be the end of the world, as I have a script that pulls all the images from one folder so all she would have to do would be to add and subtract files from one folder, but in past experience with other clients, I know that having clients ftp files up is not fool proof since they don't necessarily understand folder structures, and one wrong click can spell trouble.

The 2 solutions I've come up with are:

1) use image handler3, create a hidden product (I've used the hide categories plugin for this) and use additional images to populate the slideshow. I have no idea how to make these images show up on the main page.

1) Use the media manager. this has worked out pretty well for me in terms of uploading pictures to slideshow folder, but it doesn't allow me to delete the image.

I've spent the weekend trying to work out solution 1 as the image handler also resizes the images (again, more foolproofing) to the correct site so it's the road I'd rather take.

I've been looking at the "includes/modules/additional_images.php" script to see if I can't find a solution, but I've got no idea how to adapt this to the main page.

Pretty new to zen cart so ANY hints, clues, suggestions, feedback would be appreciated.
