Currency, yes I know, again...

I'm a noob and I have lost it.
I also went through searches, I'm stuck.

The Issue:
I get my price list in USD, I am in South Africa and using ZAR. I need to manage my price list in USD and want the prices to be displayed in ZAR to the shoppers and I do not want the sidebox currency selector. Only ZAR prices should be displayed. The funny part is I had it working and then it stopped, I'm sure I changed 'something' which triggered the current behaviour, which by the way, seem to be correct.
I have the 'Admin->My Store->Switch to Default Language Currency' set to false and my default currency set to USD.

The question:
How do I maintain the price list in USD and have it displayed in ZAR (thus keeping the default currency to USD)?

I don't know about switching them, but to get the sidebox currency selector removed is under Admin > Tools > Layout Boxes Controller

Make sure sideboxes/currencies.php is set to off.

I must have made myself unclear though... I know how to switch the currency box on/off, but that's not the issue. I need to make my default currency the ZAR but maintaining a price list in USD i.e. having the USD exchange rate set to 1 and let Zen to convert it to ZAR. At the moment I have two currencies, USD being the default and I must rely on the shoppers to switch to ZAR... I dont want that.
