    Default Doesn't like & in shipping address details

    Hi,
    I'm hoping this is an easy one.
    I have all the latest and greatest PPEC patches installed.

    If an order is placed where no shipping is required (for example purchase a gift certificate), the order is processed just fine.

    If shipping is required, as it is for 99.9% of my items, after clicking Confirm Order, the following error appears:

    "We were not able to process your order. Please try again, select an alternate payment method, or contact the store owner for assistance. (Missing Parameter)"

    and the customer is redirected back to the Payment information page.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    What shipping modules do you have enabled?

    Ok, I figured this out.
    The PPEC module is working fine. There is however a small glitch.
    If the recipients ship to name in their PayPal account has an ampersand "&" symbol in it, thats when the error comes in.

    This probably not all that common, it just happened to be that the account I was using to test with did have that. I created a Gift Shipping address in PayPal to get around that issue.

    Could you turn on your debug logs?

    Also ensure that you have the current Patch added:

    Yes, that could be a problem. Uncommon, but possible nonetheless ...

    Hi Ajeh,
    I have the debug logs set to on for Alerts only.

    I have attached the most relevant of those logs.

    If you would like, I can provide more logs or information, or set the logs to Log File, but as you can see from this log, the ampersand seems to be taken as an operator rather than a character.

    It changes the ShipToName from "General Military & More" to
    'SHIPTONAME[23]' => 'General Military '
    and adds the portion after the ampersand as a parameter.
    ' More' => NULL

    And yes, I do have the latest patch.

    Thanks

    Yes - this is an unfortunate quirk ... it's using Payflow Pro methods for protecting special characters (& and =), but the EC services don't use the same method.

    A patch will be posted shortly with a fix on this.

    That new patch (PPEC-137-patches-Feb-28-2007.zip) fixed this issue.

    Thanks for your attention and quick work.
