Default Part of the default template is injected into my new one

Hello, I purchased a new template that I have been working on. I have been making modifications and entering SQL data to setup the catagories, etc. Somehow the (I call it) banner with links from the original default ZC template has gotten into part of my new template. I am only working from the index.php page right now (not using an index.html yet), so I cannot figure out why this is happening. I had refreshed the template before and this went away, but it is now back. should I erase the template folder and reupload it and select it as the default again?

If you are referring to the banner at the bottom of your site - all of these things are controllable from the admin

Thanks for replying. Well I have been playing for another couple weeks getting used to ZC. If you check the site: www.1nonlyflowers.com, you will notice a gray banner that says Valentine's Day, with the Valentine's Day being a link. I don't know why that appeared. I want to get rid of it but it seems to be embedded in the original template. What tpl is that a part of? Also, when I am comfortable with how index.php is, how do I incorporate that into the index.html and have the index.html respond like the php? I just don't know how to handle the index.html. What I do now is just copy the source that is in index.php into a text file and call it index.html and put it in the root. Is that how I am to treat that file? Doesn't seem right.

stick ZC in the root and you dont need an index.html
pages are ALL dynamically created and you shouldnt be messing with index.php at all

That's not a banner. That's your navigation bar. Right now, you only have one category "Valentine's Day". The navigation bar allows users to see where they are and easily move back to another location. Check out the site in my sig if you want to see it in action on a live shop.

Thanks and it sounds great, but my concern now is: how do I do that? Do I uninstall ZC and reinstall it?

You shouldn't have to reinstall. You should be able to move (using either the webmaster panel or your FTP client) the folders/files from http://1nonlyflowers.com/store/ to http://1nonlyflowers.com/

Once you do that, you'll have to change the paths in the config files to match.
