Why can't I log into Admin area

I have installed on SuSE Linux 10.2 with Apache2/PHP5/MYSQL5 I set the admin user ID and password but when I try to log in the fields are just cleared and nothing else happens. When I try 3 times it just says I have entered the wrong ID or password when I know I have not done this...

That sounds more like a website password ...

Zen Cart only has a password on a white screen asking for:
Admin username:
Admin password:

It is a white blank page with just User ID and password fields, entering the correct ID and password does not do anything but clear the fields.

Does it specifically read:

Admin username:
Admin password:

And then a link to Resend Password?

Does your Catalog load correctly?

Can you click the Login Link on the catalog and create an account without errors?

Yes it has all these and I have created a new account ok. I have tried the resend password but trying the new password does not work and gives the same problem

Well ... let's assume the worse and reset the admin login via php ...

Update: I have just deleted and re-created the admin table in mysql with the details as instructed in your previous advice about phpMyAdmin and this still doesn't work using admin + admin to log in...

i've had this problem, in the \admin\includes\configure.php. i had mine define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'db'); // use 'db' for best support, or '' for file-based storage. So what i did was change from 'db' to 'mysql'. Not sure if it will work for you, fix mined. Oh i got that solution from another thread. =D

Thank you very much my friend, that worked for me too. Now I can start to learn this program after re-installing it several times to try to find the problem.

Can you please let me know if your demo store works or not, mine doesnt' seem to work, i only get a blank page, had this problem for a week now i cant find the solution to it.
