Default flat rate by zone problem

    Hi,

I set up flat rate shipping by zone on my store by copying flat.php and creating euroflat and worldflat modules. I set up the 3 zones in the zones definitions page. This was all working fine flat.php handling the uk zone, euroflat europe and worldflat usa etc.

However shipping to the uk has now stopped working, possibly as a side effect of reducing the price to zero (tho i just tested changing it to 0.01 and it still doesnt work).

UK customers get "Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time."

I sniffed around in the zones_to_geo_zones table and for some reason the uk entry has zone_id set to null where all the other countries have zero. I dont know if this has anything to do with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Steve

Copy your details > un-install it > re-install it and enter the details. See if this refreshes the db

You can download this module to set up different flat rates.

Thanks though that module is for local zones (ie areas within a country) rather than the international zones i am using (europe, uk, usa/canada)

It was simple enough to create new flat rates but I am confused as to why my UK one no longer works.

You can use that module to set up any zone flat rate, locally or internationally. If you can't fix your UK zone, give the module a try.

I know this doesn't answer your specific problem, but what's wrong with using the Zones module? You simply enter your flat rate against a ridiculously high figure that no-one would ever order e.g. 100000:5.50 (anything up to 100000 costs 5.50 to send)
