Just want to confirm that the latest Paypal patch dated 5/10/07 by Dr Byte refers to PayPal Express checkout only. Am I correct that the modification for Web Payments Pro is still in developement. Thanks for your help.

So you cannot yet use PP as a merchant account? if i want to use PP for reg cc payments and also allow PP express, there is not solution? as a newbie, that is not clear in the product description. please confirm...thx.

I just heard about this... PayPal NVP. ( https://www..paypal.com/IntegrationCenter/ic_nvp.html)

It is an easy to use set of API calls to work with Website Payment Pro, and bypasses all the SOAP craziness! I think this would make integration with Zen even easier as it is just simple API calls somewhat akin to IPN but server initiated.

Is this of help/usefulness or am I already pointing out the obvious?

The NVP API is what the Express Checkout and the upcoming Website Payments Pro code will be using for communications to PayPal.
Definitely much tidier than soap ...
