    Default Re: Website Payment Pro

    Hi Dr. Byte,

You've helped me before. I have another cart at malcolmmcnab.com/store/. We are only using the PayPal module. He has had web site payments pro on his settings. I'm sort of PayPal illiterate. The problem is that it isn't transferring any data that you can distinguish as a product -- for example...in the paypal details page it lists, quantity always shows "1" and for the customer id, it shows the zencart id - but for the Item, it also only shows "1"....everything else works and it takes the payment, but it would be helpful if it would show the item titles or numbers that were ordered. My client has been and is use to utilizing the shipping label area to send out his CD's via the Postal Service. However, he can't tell by the information on the detailed page how many CD's or items the person ordered...it really only shows the total. He doesn't want to use the admin in the cart, because he hasn't the time to learn it and is used to his system. What we need is the item to perhaps state the number of the item from the zen cart. For example, if the CD item number is "4" - have it state, a "4" -- the other items are all downloads, so he doesn't need to see those. I'm a bit stumped how to resolve this issue and still use the cart for this. If I change his settings type in Paypal, though, would that mess up his system...he's used to doing it one way, and it's hard when you have someone that is busy and used to something to switch them over...he's pretty stubborn about it...so any insight would be helpful...I appreciate your help with this very much.

    Kinget.

PS...we're using the latest downloaded version of zen. I got this one running within the past week! :-)

Just saw it...what I read doesn't look hopeful -- looks like we'll have to look into another alternative in the meantime. Please continue to keep us posted.

    Thanks,

paypal IPN is such a PITA with what breaks it that the cart sends an agregate total to paypal
However the shop owner and the customer both get an itemized receipt from ZenCart

Well, I managed to get the PayPal Express going, but I had several problems. One problem was that the PayPal Express doesn't give the option to the customer of being able to pay without having a PayPal account. I find that a problem, because we got lots of complaints when the option wasn't available before. Also, I couldn't use it because I kept getting address errors. It kept saying that Shipping, City, State blank, cannot process. So, I went back to the PayPal IPN....GRRRR...

Thanks for your help anyway. I'm not going to worry about the error, - I just went back to IPN and will need to find another way about those details. The express isn't going to work for us either.

Anyway, I am going to cross my fingers and wait for the new module to come out. I hope there will be better solutions there.

    Thanks
    Kinget....

These address errors are typical of using an older version of the PayPal express checkout module.

nevertheless, if you're no longer intending to use the module, it's a moot point.

    Hi Dr. Byte,

    Oh...Wow...Where's the newer module?

I hadn't realized I had the old version since the cart was the most recent version download. I would try it again -- however, we would still have the issue of people not wanting to have a pay pal account to make a pay pal payment. Does the newer version resolve that issue as well?

    Thanks for the info.
