    Default Items not showing up on confirmation email

    When I use PP Express Checkout, everything works fine, and I receive a confirmation email. In the email, there's an Item name & number field that always says Item Name: (blank) and Item Number 0. I have the latest patch applied. This was an upgrade from 1.3.6 to 1.3.7. I was using IPN, but I uninstalled it after I enabled Express Checkout.

    I'll be happy with being able to say Item Name: MY_STORE Purchase, Item Number: n/a. Anyway to do this?

    I'm not sure why it's giving you blank item names. It normally numbers them starting with 0, 1, 2, 3, etc, and supplies the actual product name from the shopping cart, and the price of each item.

    Can you turn on debug logging and post the logs after one of those transactions happens?

    I applied the latest patch (I didn't know there was one from 2/20) and logged the alert messages only. It's only 3 files now.

    On Paypal_Debug_EC-9G1396554R195735X_qjuB.log, I noticed a few oddities on line 1 and 20. There seems to be extra characters, span class..... I searched in Developers toolkit but didn't find a match for either of the strings. Where are they coming from????

    Have you tried testing with some *other* product that doesn't contain HTML embedded in the product "title" ?

    None my product titles have HTML embedded, unless ZC automatically does it...

    I think I might've had a typo when editing one of the template files, and that's why this is happening. I'll be doing extensive template comparisons because I'm finding other things wrong that shouldn't be going wrong.

    If you can think of where the typo could be, that would help me greatly.

    When a product is out-of-stock, Zen Cart does add "***" to the product name, and wraps it in a <span> tag.

    How about trying to purchase something that's not out-of-stock. Do you have the same problems then ?

    That was it!!! I do have a few test products, and I entered stock qty, and the item names appeared in the Paypal confirmation email.

    This brings up my next question... Most of my products (99%) don't need stock qty set as I make my own products, and the turnaround is very quick if something is out of stock. Would there be a code revision for items without stock qty, or will I have to manually enter qty on all my items? Thanks!

    If you find the quantity fixes the problem ... you could use:
    PHP Code:
    update products SET products_quantity 1 where products_quantity 0
    And that would update all quantities to 1 ...

    I am assuming these are all your downloads?

    And that you do not have your downloads marked as Virtual and not marked as Always Free Shipping ...

    Thank you! That worked. No, they're not downloads. I just don't need to keep track of stock (yet). And yes, I now know I shouldn't mark virtual products as free shipping.
