How do I add a new link to sidebox?

I'm trying to add a new link into my sidebox. (Ex. "Tell Friends").I've been searching this whole help site for help and not getting anywhere. I've read stuff that seemed to make sense to me, but when I follow the directions (if I understand them) I don't get anywhere! I know to put a new link in I have to do Link Naming and then Link Placement. One thing told me to go to my "tool" and "ez-pages" and here I would see the ID and Chapter number and then go from there. Well, when I go to that area there are no ez-pages listed there and no ID or Chapter Numbers. I'm really really frustrated and don't know what to do. Someone please help me! The instructions should assist you in adding a sidebox with links and/or in adding a link to a current sidebox. There are basically 4 things that you need to do/edit to enable this
