Making Category, All, New, Featured Listings Consistent

Hello all - Noob Zenner here...

I have a test site up with the default template. I am trying to tweak the various product listing pages to all look similar. Thanks to this thread:

I was able to get the Category listing to look exactly like I want:

However, I can't get the All Products, Featured Products & New Products pages to look like the category listing. You can see they look different here:

Is there an easy way to make the various category & product listing pages look consistent?

PS: After battling with Smarty templates for the last 4 years, it is great to use straight php & css - but I am struggling with the learning curve of figuring out what goes where. Lots of new tricks for this old dog to learn!

Currently the all/featured/new listings are built by a completely different code set than the product listing. Getting them to look and work identically is probably not practical, and even very similar will involve some coding.

The good news is that version 1.4 is scheduled to rationalize all the listing pages, when it comes out. And that will be "when it's done." V1.3.8 is likely to be out before too long, but I don't know how much time 1.4 will take.

Well, I guess I'll play around with the code and see how much damage I can do.


Another PS: The overrides are a cool concept (old news to all of you Zenners) - the main reason I am looking to move from my current cart is that there's no reasonable way I can upgrade on top of all the customizations I have done over the years. I *really* don't want to go down that road again. I do wish there was a way to make the ZC overrides a bit more consolidated so that I didn't need to have CUSTOM folders scattered all over the place. Of course, I know the answer - don't complain, contribute!
