Buy now / Add to basket is turned off

Can anyone help me turn on the buy now / add to basket button -- its disappeared.

I recall turning it off for development and now can't find the switch.

I cannot find Store Mode in My Store.
Can you tell why?

The Store status is there set to 0 but no store status

A further thought - could a template have been altered in error.
Does anyone know thename of the template producing the page.
But the buy now button is also missing on the catagory detail page so its not that.

I have now done a clean instal to a new database. 'buy now' works fine.
When I change the database in the config.php files back to the earlier database ( containing the shop data) the 'buy now' does not appear.

I deduce from that there is a field in the database which is causing the problem.

Which one?

Can anyone help?
