Link Point mod wont take Amex

I am using a fresh install of zen 1.37 and the linkpoint mod that came preinstalled with this version .

I have no issues taking master card or visa but none of the amex transactions go through. I have called amex and link point and they can not see anything that is wrong and don't have record of the declined transactions which leads me to believe the mod is declining it for some reason before it even goes out. I just looked and apparently this has happened since we started the site a month ago, not one amex transaction has gone through. Is there something special that has to be done to take amex with the link point mod ?

Did you activate Amex in Admin> Configuration> Credit Cards?

and you have verified that linkpont has added amex merchant account to your aount
