Changing the name of featured Item group

I would like to have another category like featured items but with a different name.

I know how to customize the name, i just don't know how to get it to show up in admin tools.

I was hoping i could copy all the files that make up the Featured items list, and then rename them. However i think that ill need an SQL entry to get this new category to show up in the admin tools.

Can anyone give me some advice on what files i need to copy and rename, and then what SQL entry i need to enter.

Background:
I have a tea store, and i want there to be featured items on the front page... and in a side box i want there to be "Top Shelf Teas". Then in admin tools i can designate which teas i want to add to the "Top Shelf Teas" catalog.


Also in my featured product list, the "add ____" button is on the left hand side, and the description is down below. I would like to have it listed in the same manner as when you go to a category.

Also while im on a roll... When you click on a category from the row at the top of the page, if you pick a category with product in it, then it will also display the welcome page. How do i disable this?
