Follow the logic in the tpl_module_product_listing.php, there exists a conditional that does exactly this if there is only one product - - -

Much easier if for full categories but you can add as many conditionals as you want

Thanks for the reply. Now you can see the site, I would like to try to skip the middle step various products but would like to try it out on the mens kilts product. In your first reply as quoted above, you said that it does this exactly if only one product. as you can see I am looking at two products. Does this make a difference please?

I ws referencing this for you to look at the logic that forces the transition to the product pages when there is only one product so that you might apply it in some fashion to those with more than one.
