    Default Problem after Installation

    I have finished the installation and got the message telling me it was all done, did I want to go to the store or go to the admin area? If I select go to the admin area I get the following error:

    "Not Found
    The requested URL /wholesale/index.php was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. "

    If I select got to the store, I can access the initial front page, but if I try and login I get this same error. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Mahala,

    The most probable reason is that your permissions are not set right. The web-server needs to be able to read from the PHP directory.

    Right click on your php folder, select security and add NETWORK SERVICE. Give it Read & Execute, List Folder Contents and Read permissions. Be sure to check the "Replace permission entries on all child objects..." to make sure every file and folder gets the new permissions.

    After that, you'll be done!

    php directory? Sorry, I'm a bit lost when it comes to much outside html lol. Can you explain that again like you were telling a two year old?

    Ah, from your answer I guess you are installing ZenCart on a server that is not yours, i.e. from a web hosting service?

    OK, you need to find if PHP has been installed on your hosting account.

    Oh dear,

    I've just reread your message and I think I'm talking rubbish!

    It looks like you've got your store's URL path wrong.

    Try and type the store's URL in manually.

    Type in http://yourdomain.com/[subdirectory where you installed zencart]

    I'm not sure what the problem was (but fairly certain the URL path was correct). However, I have completely reinstalled it and this time I'm in! Onwards and upwards to next calamity!
