    Default Left/Right Column width with css

    I have been having a play about with this and have sussed changing the layout of most of the page from the css whic is grand!

    Only snag is resizing the left/right columns.

    #navColumnOne {
    width: 200px;
    }

    just doesn't change anything. I tried the same with #navColumnOneWrapper and .columnLeft.

    I switchback to the default green theme to make sure I hadn't affected this in anyway with other mods in my css and I still couldn't alter this. I really don't want to have to use the admin > layout stuff unless really necessary.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    If its a pain to disable a column, can the width (pixels or %) be changed any easier?

    Thanks for any hints.

    Greg-

    You have misunderstood. The columns widths and their ability to be enabled/disabled are controlled in the admin.

    Admin> Layout Settings

    Easy as pie.

    I would like different colum widths for different pages, are you saying this is a pain to do from the css sheets? I too used

    #navColumnOne {
    width: 200px;
    }

    and found out it did noting.

    Thanks
