sidebox basic q's

1)I have searched the forums and have found a way to add a new sidebox (download ext). What i want to know is could you use 1 of the current sideboxes to edit because i don't use them all.

2)When adding link there a 2 ways, either you add a ZC type reference (z_ref..) or the html way (<a href...>. Does it matter what way you use because you could reference an internal page with the html way, as i have done. I didn't know much about the ZC way?

3)Some pages i prefer to not to display sideboxes to make extra room for product display.
Can you turn sideboxes on and off with certain pages?

I have the sidebox add on and it works fine.

Still not sure about q2 and q3?
