Adding more category boxes...

I would like to add a couple more category boxes on the left column. I would like the first category to say "Shoes" and inside that box it say "Mens Shoes". Then in the next category I want it to say "Skateboards" and inside that category box have it say "Decks", "Trucks", "Bearings", "Wheels", "Hardware", and "Other". There are more categories but I think you get what I'm saying. How would I do this and say if I wanted to add "Womens Shoes" to the "Shoes" category would it change automatically if I add it or would I have to go into a file and edit it?

Yes, I'm new to Zen Cart, I was previously using osCommerce but heard that Zen Cart has a lot of more features.

Must this be a separate box??? Or can it be another category in the same box?

Also looke at the "Document" product type that is part of the base install as these are in there own sidebox

I'd like to also have separate category boxes for each top category. But there are only 5 product types. It is possible to clone the General-product type 7 times with different names, but with all the same settings?

That is one method but if you do not require the variations for creating a new product type you might see this thread where gjh42 has another angle/solution
