Default Customizing Template for Multiple Product Fields

    Hello,

We are considering using the Zen Cart for our online comic shop. Our existing product-list template contains six fields:
    cover image
    title
    issue #
    condition
    description
    price

Can we redesign the product list to allow for this structure?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Best,
    Marv, USA

Of these, only "condition" is not already in the system. You can use model # for issue #, and change the associated text to fit.
It is possible to add a field to the product type.

The best solution would likely be to use Moku's Product Book mod (support thread in Product Types) which is designed to handle books. It has many more fields than you say you need, and could easily do the job for you.

If I got what you mean - the product description area for a product is a "html" area. You can enter any html that you want, to this box - this can be just text or you can get creative and add boxes or anything that you can define in html (restricted only by the space) i.e. if this area is 650px wide do not try to code a 700px wide layout in this area

Assuming you want actual different information fields, not just your info formatted in an html block, you could adapt the "manufacturer" field to "condition". Enter all the possible conditions as different "manufacturers", and again change the associated text (this will be mostly in english.php files).

If you do just care about the screen display, making up an html format for this should be trivial as Kobra suggested.
