Purchase without creating an account

Ok, here is an interesting question which more than likely has been asked before, but here goes.....

I had a lady into the shopping cart the other day. She put quite a few things in her basket, but when it came to checkout, it prompted her to create an account.

She dumped the basket, emailed me and explained that she preferred to just purchase without having to created an account. (She felt that the info being saved for her was not necessary not to mention the normal paranoid stuff).

To be honest, on sites I purchase from, most of the time I prefer not to create an account either. I just want to make that one purchase and be done.

So the question is......with Zencart......can they make a one time purchase without creating an account?? if so, how?

I certainly do not want to run anyone off. But need to check all options.

I really love that argument,
all the informaton that that is required for login is the information required for shipping and credit card verification....

But with that said the only official way for this is if you are using 1.3.7 and use paypal EXPRESS.

now the customer goes to paypal and if they have a PP account then they just login and pay you,
otherwise they have to create an account there

you are honestly better off changing the create account verbage to shipping address

but those are the 2 official ways

I was actually thinking of removing the entire Welcome guest, create an account stuff on the front page. That way, when they went to the shopping cart, they would just figure that the info asked for was what needed to be filled in for the purchase. :)

Just trying to make all customers, new and old, feel more comfy with their shopping experience. :)

Check this thread for no account login which does not apply to all situations but worked great for me.
