No welcome e-mail?

Is this something that has to be turned on? I just set up a shop and didn't get a welcome e-mail, but I did get the order confirmation, so I know it isn't a mail server thing. I've looked and can't find a setting...help?

In the Configuration ... Email Settings ...

There are a couple settings on each email address for the Admin to get copies:

Send Copy of Create Account Emails To - Status
Send copy of Create Account Status
0= off 1= on

Send Copy of Create Account Emails To
Send copy of Create Account emails to the following email addresses, in this format: Name 1 <email@address1>, Name 2 <email@address2>

For the customer to get copies:

Send E-Mails
Send out e-mails
