Sideboxes disappeared

IGNORE - for some reason all my sideboxes have been switched to OFF and I didn't do it!. SHould have looked at the Toll menu before asking qustion.



I'm creating my own custom template following the guidance on here and in the Wiki, but for some unknown reason my sideboxes have gone.

There is just white space!

If I switch back to the Classic template they are there.

Any pointers to where I am going wrong?

When creating or installing a new template - by default Zen Cart does not know the sideboxes status -
you have to also admin > tools > layout boxes controller > reset.

Then adjust the boxes wanted

Hi Cobra,

I have the same issue, the only thing it happened with me after replacing a blank side box within Dreamweaver and when it asked me if I should update the links I accidentally clicked yes ! but I have the same thing like TheWelshMan when I reset the classic template I got sideboxes back , where can I find the broken link ?

As kobra pointed out, when you change templates, Zen Cart doesn't know what sideboxes you want to use. You have to go into the admin under tools->layout boxes controller and reset them.

Thanks Afo, but I already did that and it didn't help though ! the link has been updated in Dreamweaver while I was trying to move my blank side box !

Do not use Dreamweaver to transfer files, get a good FTP program.

Well Kim, That didn't happen in the process of transferring files from my local drive to the server, but it happened when I tried to replace one folder from one location to another, But you are right, I don't advice to do the moving of folders within the Dreamweaver unless you don't click on YES when it asks to update links that’s the only negative issue in using Dreamweaver with ZC

Actually the only one that you have found so far - it tends to bloat the code it creates among many others

I know this is an old post, but I had some similar problems because I did the same thing. Accidentally clicked update links.
Solution: In Dreamweaver click edit/preferences/general.
Where it says "Update Links When Moving Files" click NEVER.
It took a bit of time to fix all the ../../admin etc.'s that showed up in many files. Hope this helps....Mac
