is it possible to make particular products to have a minimum combined value before it allows checkout... ex

product line a must have a total of $300 in sales or checkout is invalid....

product line b any amount......

product line c any amount

product line d must have a total of $200 in sales or checkout is invalid????

Just need to put on your coding hat and develop a proper test of each product in the cart and ascertain their minimum order value ...

Another method is to use the built in features of Zen Cart and indicate a:

Product Minimum:

The minimum can be set to allow for a combination of attributes or to not allow for mixed attributes to make the quantity minimum with the:

Product Qty Min/Unit Mix: Yes No

this is more a product line... like an entire category.. all items in a particular category has to reach a minimum dollar amount.....combined not individual...

That would require some custom coding then if you cannot apply the minimums on a per product basis ...
