    You are most welcome ...

Keep in mind when you add vs edit ...

It will probably wipe out the Option Value on the edit if you add HTML code in there so keep a copy handy ...

This is a way to "cheat" on maintaining and updating common data on products ... it is not by any means perfected ...

Plain text is fine, but get into the fancy stuff and it makes messies on the edit ...

I've got three sites using zen cart, the one I was playing with through this process works fine. In the other two, the READ ONLY attributes are displaying with all the other attributes under the 'Please Choose:' instead of above it.

    Here's a product showing what I mean, http://www.custom-creations-unlimite...te-p-1515.html

    I don't know where to look for a cause/solution.

Did you try using the Sort Order to put the READONLY Attributes above the others?

Yes, but they stay with the other attribute below 'Please Choose:'

I see what you are saying ...

You would really have to do more custom coding to get those above the Please Choose text ...

Or turn that off and make a fake one for the sort order where the Option Name is Please Choose: and the Option Value has no text to it just a blank ...

Then, using the sort order have the Please Choose above the others and the READONLY above that ...

The other site I was playing with, the product I was testing, didn't have other attributes. I assumed the READ ONLY was up top because there weren't any others. When tested, it also 'mixes in' with the other attributes.

Here's the other thing though. The code you gave me works to not show the attribute if it's empty. But if I create a value for the attribute again, it doesn't just reappear. I have to get back, product by product, to assign the new value I created to each product.

If you have products_options_values_id 12 in the products_options_values table with products_options_values_name set to: Merry Christmas ...

Then change products_options_values_name to blank until Feb 14th and change it to Happy Valentine's Day! ... you are still using products_options_values_id 12

You should not need to make a new one ...

I just typed a long explanation of what I was doing, why it didn't work that way, went to test it and..he!! it works just as you say. I must have done something wrong previously.

I need to get away from this dang computer for a while.

    Thanks Linda!!
