Hello - and a cross selling question.

[FONT=Verdana]I was forced to step UP to ZC do to a customers problem with too much success and we're now seriously crashing the old carts access db. In the end it won't kill me and will make me stronger.[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]My question... I need to implement a pretty complicated cross selling module. Here's an example:[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]500 Pen Kits, 75 Drill Bits, 35 Bushings, 50 Tubes[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Each pen kit uses a specific drill bit, bushing, and tube.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Customers often purchase an extra combination of 1 or more drill bits and/or bushings and/or tubes[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]So... below the product I am looking for something like:[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Don't forget to get your exta tubes, drill bits and bushings![/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Qty Box Drill bit (that goes with this kit) Price[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Qty Box Bushing(that goes with this kit) Price[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]Qty Box Tube (that goes with this kit) Price[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]I've looked at cross sell and cross sell advanced and attribute options, but I’m not sure they can do what I need.[/FONT]

Looks to me like you would probably need to use attributes; at first that sounds horrendous, but if it really is a case of only "goes with this kit" then it's simple:

Option name: Extra Drill Bits
Option Values: 1 to as many as people ever order

Option name: Extra Bushing(s?)
Option Values: 1 to as many as people ever order

Option name: Extra Tubes
Option Values: 1 to as many as people ever order

As I say - simple - IF these extras are exactly the same as those that make up the initial product.

Mind you - pricing may be a pita!

Shoot, and I'm right in the middle of installing xsell advanced.

But it's really not the case of "only" goes with this kit. It's more like pen kit A needs bushing a drill bit a and tube C; where penkit B might need bushing b drill bit B and tube C.

And I'm not sure yet, but coulld I allow more than one (for example) tube to be ordered if I used attributes?

Not pretty yet, but xsell advanced did the trick. Install went smooth after I located where the heck the tpl_ product_info_display.php file was.
