Site slow?

My site seems like its slow and it tends to get Error: 500 Internal Server Error (I dont know if its Internal Server Error I just know the number is 500)

Its still in the process of being created but from what I have so far it just seems really slow compared to my test site http://www.john.8m6.net/shop/

I am not running into any major slow downs or dead pages ... were you able to resolve this problem?
