Product sort Order Not Working

OK I have spent hours and hours trying to figure this out. Probably somthing stupid I'm just not seeing...Anyways I just want to simply have the products on my home page be soprted by the Product Sort ID. Simple right? Im using 1.3.5 and the tru-blu template. I have tried using the default template and only got the same results. I did edit the new_products.php page and took out the code the makes the home page products random (ExecuteRandomMulti changed to just Execute). that finally got things to stop being random, so now the homepage products are not random as I wanted but I can not change the order at all. It seems it doesnt matter what I do nothing will change.

Here are my settings:
Product Sort ID ar set (10, 20 , 30 , 40 etc.)
Product Listing - Display Product Listing Default Sort Order = blank
Product Info - Products Info - Products Option Name Sort Order = 0
Layout Settings - Categories/Products Display Sort Order = 0
New Listing - Display Product Display - Default Sort Order =8
Featured Listing - Display Product Display - Default Sort Order =8
All - Display Product Display - Default Sort Order =8


Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Probably will work better in v1.3.7 with the current PayPal patch at:

as there is a bug on the New Products and Upcoming products in that version among other issues that you really need to upgrade to correct ...

Thanks I have been thinking of updating to the latest, however Im not ready to do it just yet. So there is no way to sort by ID in 1.3.5? No fixes?

correction I just want to sort by "sort order" right now It sorts by product ID no matter what I do.

What about faking it out and making the sort order part of the Product ID?

Crazy idea but sometimes I use a "work around' when I do not know how to do it "the correct way."

Zen Cart is setup that if set to blank it will use the sort order of the Product in the Category Listings ...

Yeah I know its supposed to work that way but it just doesnt. I can set every sort order setting in anyway I want and it will still sort to the product ID, so the earliest products show first. I will Update sometime but I dont really want to mess anything up right now. Here is the link http://www.ubuyez.com

If I manually set the sort order in the URL I appear to be getting a forced sort order by Product Sort Order ...

What order should these products be in for this category?

Are these Products Linked Product, as in do they belong to more than 1 Category?

In the Configuration ... Product Listing ... you have your Sort Order setting blank? As in nothing at all is typed in the setting?

If you switch to Classic Template does this work?

I'm having a different problem. I'm trying to locate in the file / code where I can change the product listing page's sort order to Products_ID Descending.
