Hello! I'm selling batteries for laptops and run an online shop (oscommerce script).
I badly need two things:
1. The characteristic property of the shop is that one product is placed in many categories. For example: NB-802D battery suits for about 200 notebooks of different manufacturers. In the products catalog it looks like:
Power for notebooks (Category 1) - Asus A2500 (Category 2) - NB-802D (Product)
Power for notebooks (Category 1) - Asus A2500L (Category 2) - NB-802D (Product)
Power for notebooks (Category 1) - Manufacturer X (Category 2) - NB-802D (Product)
... etc.
If a client enters in a search field the name (model) of his notebook - he gets nothing, as the search performs only in names/descriptions of products, not categories.
May be somebody had such a problem and knows the solution?
2. In Russia customers prefer to call and ask some questions first and then, as they have already called, make an order on the phone. As a consequence, shop operator has to enter orders under his login, then it is inconvenient to track them in Admin etc.
Is there in Zen-Cart a "shop operator interface" (or contribution) which lets an operator enter customer's details and make an order for that customer?
Is it possible with Zen-Cart to solve that issues?
