Oh, so they can't just put in their own value? Or do we sell $1 gift certs and they input the amount in the quanity box?
There is a mod in the downloads section (product types) that will allow you to have the customer enter their own value for a gift certificate. Its called Value GV-Mod. I just installed it on a site and tested and it worked fine for me.

I don't use the mod and created gift cert for $10, $25, $50 and $100. The customer can then order any number in any quantity to get the amount they want to buy.
Thanks a lot for the mod tip! I will give it an install. :)
