The above q's were answered when i checked the faq.
What i want to know is this.

    q) Can i set up more then 1 gateway eg paypal and something else?
q)I want to be able to stay online during CC payment, so is paypal no good for this?
    q) do i use test CC no.s to test installed module, as i though paypal or others require real money to use?

there are probably smarter people than i who will reply to this but here are my 2 cents . . .

Yes you can have multiple payment methods, and you can sort them (see Modules > Payment in your admin)

PayPal will allow you to do what you're wanting but you'll have to subscibe to their premium service. i belive it's $20 a month; you'll find that said amount is about the going rate for a payment gateway's api.

You'll want to make sure that you have an SSL certificate on your page when people enter their cc info. 1 it makes them feel more secure about buying from you and 2nd; most legitimate credit card processors require it. (i should know, I work for one)

As far as testing, you'll also note that in the Payment Module section there are several test cards listed.

Hope this helps, if you need an SSL my site can help, but I am by no means suggesting that you have to use the ones we sell.

    hi,

Well anyone knows more than me on this topic.

I just trying to understand all this so I am kind of looking for a free service to use and try dummy CC no's on.

I take it there is none around.

actually there is a whole list of fake cc numbers to test your set up. but as far as integrating with a payment gateway, as far as where they will not be routed away from your site, no not really. you'd have to call around and see if they offer demo accounts. i am not permitted to say where i work, nor the payment gateway we use, but i do know that i personally set up demo accounts for our payment gateway almost daily.

so you might want to start there. look at the defaults that are installed (the company i work for is not one of them) and call them up to see if they offer demo's.

    hi,
I will also check the deafult installs as you said but can you install more thhan 1 gateway eg paypal and youpay?

I think i might just set up paypal as a test because that is free. From there i will look around at what else can do a better job in my view. There are dummy cc no.s which i can test with.

I can't use sandbox with ZC is that right as i have been told it doesn't work, so do i test with fake cc no.s?

Paypal comes in paypay ipn, checkput express and direct payment which needs express installed.

Now what is the diference between these options and what is involved with getting direct payment loaded?

I am also looking around at paypal for answers to these q's.
