    Idea or Suggestion Address Format?

    Hello Everyone,

Can somebody please tell me where can I see which address format (1 to 6) corresponds to which appearance?

It would be convenient if there is a sample address that describes which format. I have been searching the forum but cannot find it.

In Switzerland it is usually like this. So which format is this?

    Name
    Street name House no.
    Address 2 (optional)
    Postcode City
    Country

    Many thanks for your help.

    Chepster

Hmmmm ... the only place it's documented is in the new eStart Your Web Store with Zen Cart user's guide. (pp 85,86)
You can also view it in the raw data contained in the address_book table in your database. Be careful to *not* change any of the data in that table.

The default format "1" for Switzerland follows the format you mentioned. It'll be up to the customer to enter the "street number" after the "street name" in the "Street address" field.

    Thanks DrByte,

Hmmm... Got your point. I thought maybe I am just too impatient not to look hard enough. Thanks for the info and the tip for using format 1. BTW, is the Postcode followed by the City in format 1?

    Many thanks,

Oops ... that would be format #5, used by Austria and Germany.

I have a question about address formats. Can I add one?

I run a store for the Military in Germany their address format is very different to any of the 6 included.

    Name
    Address Line 1
Address Line 2 (possibly, but not always)
    Postcode

Thats it!! No Country, State, County or anything else. Anyone know how I could implement this?
