Is there an easy way to make admin a fixed width

I would like to limit the width of the admin to 1000. When viewing from a hires monitor or my widescreen laptop the stretched out admin doesn't look very good at all. I realise the admin does not use a template system and i have searched around for a solution but i could not find anything.

So can anyone suggest a reasonably easy way to do this? I see most pages have the width hardcoded in each php file.

No. Given that each file has its own html, you have to go in and edit each file.

You could try adding width:1000px; to the body tag in admin/includes/stylesheet.css

So simple too. I also added margin-left:auto; & margin-right:auto; to centre it up and it looks great now.
