Using the same shop on multiple domains

I don't know what google does last week, but for most searching phrases our shop change from searchresult 1 on page 1 to page 20 or more.
To prevent this, I try to install the same shop on multiple domains on the same dedicated server. It works well, because it is the same database and when changing to https it is possible to use it from the first shop.
My only problem is the images folder, beause it is declared in the configure.php as DIR_WS, means as a position on the webserver (domain) with relative path. In this way I cannot change the domain with ../ . Is there anyway to declare the imagefolder with an absolut path or is there a way to change the domain on the same server with a relative path?

I anticipated as much. We are shieldless against one like google. And nobody knows a solution to get the pictures from an other domain.

That is a terrible idea from an SEO standpoint.

The big SEs will see the multiple domains as a way to cheat. The IP block will be the same, the nameservers will be the same, the whois will show the same owners, and there will be duplicate content. The domains will get banned from the SEs and it will be years ( if ever ) before the domain names can be used again for SE traffic.
