I think it needs to be looked in a sense that country detection is a basic need prior to anything, from that the store directs to as many structures as one requires from a global point.
Example
Distribution vs Wholesale vs Retail
Retail price is determined on a world scale meaning products sold in Japan made in Canada would most certainly be taken into effect as well. In many cases an import product carries 30 to 50 % retail pricing increases if not more(again depends on product and market, I'm not talking selling comic books)
Thus, Say we have 4 global retail prices set.
We also have a wholesale levels (say 30 40 & 50)
and
Distribution (40 and 50, say a gold level and a silver level)
that means my break done on one region would be as follows
Retail - 20.00
W 15 12 and 10
D 6 and 5
as examples(don't get snicky on my math example, it's an example only)
I can see where group pricing is one part to set my Wholesale levels based on one retail price. But, the missing link is the retail price based on the global setting as mentioned above plus the optional distribution hook as well.
Distribution I think in this case is a long shot setting to add on as well as the math and logic behind it would be a task in a half, but what a beauty of a mod it would be.
You have the full capacity to easily set wholesale/distribution and global pricing with attribute options to set what ever discount structure you use.
I've seen many addons that come up part way, but never to this level of use and it would be a great feat for any guru out there, just don't ask me how to program it, but test it and help with the logic towards it, no problem.
