Default Making sure I protect everything!

I've already installed the latest and greatest but I want to preemptively know what to copy to the hard drive for extra protection other than the custom folders (following the override folder system for edits I've made) I've already created.

    Seemed like the right forum.

What happens to stuff you do IN the zen cart admin (like ez pages, for example and your products for that matter) when you upgrade? I don't really understand how everything meshes yet so I don't really know "where" stuff like ez pages are stored.

Sorry if this sounds basic......it is! I'll get it eventually!

All of your Data (products, customers, orders etc) is stored in the Database and is separate from the "files" - the files contain the templates and the code that gathers the information, makes the calculations and assembles the pages you see online.

    Thanks again.

So just to confirm for my own sanity:
My ez pages, customers, products, etc. are stored in my SQL database?

Still wrangling with how everything meshes together (just discoved myPHPadmin yesterday thanks to another kind helper!) I'm getting there.

Yes, Zen Cart is a dynamic program. The pages are assembled using the PHP to pull all the parts and pieces together from the information in the database and the structure in the files.

Duh!, Thanks for the hand holding. Getting clearer everyday.

Just don't want to go through all of this semi-hell (fun though) only to have it screwed up next upgrade. Sounds like as long as I follow the override system I'll be cool since everything else is protected in my SQL.

I'll probably still be nervous anyway!

Thanks again for the time. Good chance you'll see me again....whether you like it or not!
