integrate into website

If I want to integrate the cart into an existing website by wrapping could I create a template to do this so every time I update zen-cart it isn't lost? I've been reading through the wiki but I haven't quite figured it out yet

IF you use the over rides you wont lose your design everytime you upgrade,

you will need to wrap your design into ZC

ok, I think I found it. I would put my header and footer code in the tpl_header.php and tpl_footer.php in my template/common folder. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks

got it wrapped.. how do I turn off the "new products" and "featured products"? Can these be turned off in the admin area somewhere or should I just comment them out in one of the files?

admin -> configuration -> layout OR index dont remember which

You will save a lot of questions if you just take some time and go through the entire admin panel, page by page, and look at what each page does even if you're not interested in it right now.
Later when you want to do something you will at least remember that you saw a switch, even if you don't recall exactly where.
