Easy Populate Questions

I am getting a product feed of around 4,000 items and I have managed to manipulate most of it to work beautifully with Easy Populate. However I have on final issue to deal with... The feed gives a full url for the images with the base domain being on the vendors site. There is no problem accessing the images, either dynamically or for download to my site.

However, easypopulate seems to assume the store domain for image links, and it appears to need the images already loaded up to the store domain/directory rather then actually causing the images to be uploaded as with the normal product config within zencart.

Asuming that Easy Populate is not actually causing the upload of the image to the store, but only referencing a location, where can I find the reference to that location and will Easy Populate and ZenCart allow for the images to be accessed from a remote site, dynamically?

Also, is there any reference material that lays out the basic columns structure and naming conventions...

I don't know the "technical" answer to your question, but my experience suggests that what you are attempting to do is either not possible, or at the very least, is inadvisable.

There can be a whole host of problems that arise when you "bypass" the conventions inherent in this software, in an attempt to try a "short cut".

It is FAR easier to just get your client to put the images on a CD or flash drive, and for you to FTP them to your images directory.

You realise that you will not be able to invoke features such as IH2 if you do what you are suggesting.

As I said, there may be more detailed technical issues, of which a humble schoolboy like me may not be aware, but your idea does not sound like a good one at all.
