shipping charges 'on customer's account'?

It is possible to set up the shopping cart & customer creation page to collect the customers UPS, FEDEX, or Airborne number. And if the customer chooses to use their carriers account then the shipping charge is removed from the shopping cart and checkout out continues. Is this possibly built in? If not, has someone built this contribution, or know what files would need to be changed to do so? Any direction would be much appreciated.

You could re-work the STORE PICKUP module to achieve this.

I haven't done a re-work with a shipping module, but I HAVE done it with a Payment module.

I re-worked CHECK/MONEYORDER to become a module called ACCOUNT HOLDERS.

(This payment mod is now available in downloads).

I managed to do this with relative ease, so give it a try.
